Virtual International Debate Competition on the exploring the theme of AI and Law

Legal Tech, in alliance with the BeABP Foundation, embarked on a visionary endeavour by launching an exhilarating Virtual International Debate Competition on the 1st of August, 2020.

About

Debate Topic: The competition centred on the increasingly relevant theme of Artificial Intelligence and its implications for the legal profession, stimulating a rich discussion on whether AI represents a disruptive threat or an innovative opportunity for lawyers.

Participation and Engagement: Open to the public and encouraging professionals from all fields to participate, the event provided a platform for diverse perspectives and vigorous debate.

Competition Rules: Teams of two debated both sides of the motion, with each speaker allocated four minutes to make their case. The event upheld the highest standards of professionalism, forbidding any form of harsh comments or discrimination.

Distinguished Judging Panel

The debate was presided over by Robert Hanna, the Founder and Managing Director of Kissoon Carr, a high-calibre legal recruitment consultancy. Mr. Hanna is celebrated as one of the most eminent legal recruitment consultancy entrepreneurs globally. His extensive commercial experience and fervour for sharing his expertise made him an ideal figure to adjudicate the competition, guiding participants towards insightful discussions aligned with their long-term career and business aspirations
